The sea bass bite turned on hard in early June, with one member cashing in on a stretch of relentless action.
5/31/26:
Frank C - 18" sea bass on the jig, a four-inch diamond jig with a teaser loop above it. Said they were "clobbering" a green-tail jig, and after losing that rig to a snag, switched to a plain hook and kept crushing it. Estimated 50-60 fish over four hours.
6/4/26:
Paul S - Great day on the Fish Monger, boat limited out by 11am with good size fish. His best was 17-1/4", the bottom hook of a double. Capt. Jerry ran about 4-5 miles straight out, bounced around a wide area, saw 7 head boats spread out but none close. After about 100 fish landed on the boat, they worked back toward shore south of the inlet.
